How it works

What crowdfunding is, which kind of crowdfunding we do, how you run a campaign and what it costs. A two-minute read.

What crowdfunding is

Crowdfunding is a way to finance a project by asking a little from many people instead of a lot from a few. The people who back you are not buying a share of your business and are not lending you money: they are choosing to bring into existence something that does not exist yet.

Which kind of crowdfunding we do

Reward based. In exchange for their support you offer a reward: an object, an experience, a copy of the finished work, a public thank-you. No shares, no interest, no money paid back. You offer what you promised — and you have to deliver it.

Take it all. What you raise is yours even if you do not reach your goal: if you set €20,000 and raise €7,000, those €7,000 are yours. So are the rewards you promised to the people who gave them to you.

Plainly, because this is the choice that matters most: it is the right model if part of the money lets you do part of the project. It is the wrong model if half the sum gets you nowhere — the rewards still have to be delivered. Set your goal with that in mind.

Running a campaign, step by step

  1. You describe the project. A few lines: what you want to do, for whom, why now.
  2. Campagna Crowdfunding writes the first draft. Your page starts out already written: the story, the problem, the solution, who is behind it, the rewards, the FAQ. It is not the final text: it is the starting point that takes the blank page away.
  3. You change whatever you want. Every block can be edited, before publication and after. The final words are yours: the campaign carries your face, not ours.
  4. You decide the rewards. What you give, of which kind, and when you deliver it. If something has to be shipped, we ask backers for their addresses as soon as they pay and hand them to you once the campaign closes: you do not have to chase anyone.
  5. A person reads the campaign before it goes live. No campaign publishes itself. It is a real reading, not a rubber stamp, and it protects you too: what you publish carries your name.
  6. You go live. The page becomes public and shareable, and every reward has its own link you can send to whoever you like.

What it costs

Card fees aren't ours. They go to Stripe, which collects the money on your behalf, and they depend on where you live and on the card your backers use. The platform's 12% is calculated on what you raise, and card fees are paid by you and come on top.

What the €59 include. Every service on the platform — writing your page, the images, the public page, collecting the money, the review before publication — plus two tools of our own, at work during the campaign and after it: Picchio, which posts on social media for you the way a social media manager would, and Piccione, for email and the journeys that follow the people who support you. They are included: nothing extra to pay, no other account to open.

What we are not

We do not collect investments and we offer no financial return: backing a campaign is a donation or buys a reward, never a yield. We are not authorised or supervised by the Bank of Italy or by Consob, and European Regulation 1503/2020 does not apply to this service — you will find this stated at the bottom of every page of this site.

Some content we do not accept, and it is not a formality: the person who reads campaigns before publication does turn them down. The list is in the terms of use; how we handle data is in the privacy notice.
